Thoughts on Sessions these days?
Can these people who say, “Trust Sessions,” “Trust the Plan,” “Trump and Sessions are just pretending,” please explain to me how this supposed “theater” is going to keep President Trump from still being attacked by the media & the Democrats?
If this theory of theirs is true, the media & the Democrats are going to be even more relentless in their attacks on President Trump, saying Sessions was PRESSURED by Trump to go after his “political opposition.”
Besides, why couldn’t Sessions simply say he’s going to uphold the law and render justice, without there having to be this charade between him and the President who made him the AG?
I’ve never heard of ANY president and his AG doing something this bizarre.
It doesn’t make sense, no matter how you slice it.
Jeff would make a great mayor for San Francisco, Heaven knows Alabama doesn’t want him back, ever.
Trump and Sessions see each other at least once a week, whenever the Cabinet meets. They don’t have to duel via twitter and the press, unless the intended audience for their arguing isn’t each other.
I’ve noticed that never once has Trump asked Sessions to resign. Never once has Trump said “I’d fire Sessions except for....”. Plenty of people have invented excuses for why Trump doesn’t fire Sessions, but he’s never given one. And Trump has the sole authority to fire Sessions, Myers v United States- there is no “except for the AG” or “except when it would trigger obstruction of justice” addendum to that scotus decision.
So to me this still looks like kabuki. We don’t know what investigations are being run by the DOJ. It might be the ones that we have been hoping for. They aren’t required to tell us anything so we are all in the dark, both the critics who believe that Sessions has been doing nothing; and those like me who suspect that there is no way that Trump would sit by and let that situation happen. Well there are a couple of guys who do know what the DOJ is investigating- Sessions, and Donald Trump.
