Evangelical leader Alveda King says she’s optimistic that President Trump will unleash a “good tidal wave” of clemency after she delivered to the White House a list of nearly 100 prisoners who she wants Trump to release.
The niece of Martin Luther King Jr. participated in an Aug. 1 discussion between Trump and African-American pastors and left behind her list of names with the office of the presidential adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
King, a supporter of Trump and leader of the anti-abortion group Civil Rights for the Unborn, declined to provide a copy of her list, citing the potential sensitivity of clemency decisions, and would not discuss specific details about her interactions at the White House.

President Trump will do it. He will pardon many black prisoners, and the black community will know it and love him for it.
I think he will carefully consider it.
But I don’t think he will pardon them just because someone gives him a list. He will look at the merits of each individual, the crime, and whether they are a danger to society.
Trump doing more for blacks who may have gotten a raw deal from the justice system than Kaepernick and all of his kneeling.
As always a case-by-case basis.
I had no problem with the lady he granted clemency to a few months before. 22 years is more than enough time in prison for what she did.
Does this somehow play into the Black Lives Matters issue of blacks not getting a fair shake in court?

Same could be said of Ronald Reagan’s family.
I find it odd how some people on this forum are determined to go down rabbit trails unrelated to the point of the article.
President Trump ASKED for suggestions from the black community concerning where his power to pardon or commute sentences could be put to productive use.
This was specifically with respect to the complaints of the BLM and NFL-Kneeler crowd.
I can’t think of a better person to be presenting a list to the president for consideration.
The democrats are releasing 10’s of thousands of criminals from the jails right now including 18 murderers in Calif (gov Jerry Brown) We do not need anymore released!!

Not only are these idiots releasing prisoners they are trying to do away with the bail system, EVERYONE would be released on their own recognizance, which of course means there will be NO REASON to stick around for court dates!!! This DAMNED STATE of CA. has gone way past the point of repair!!! The ONLY good thing about this is it will drive criminal Mexicans back across the border!!!!
