Cohen testifies Trump told him to commit crime by paying off women

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen testified on Tuesday that Trump had directed him to commit a crime by arranging payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election to silence two women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump.

Cohen, 51, made the statements as he pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges in federal court in Manhattan, including tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

Cohen did not name Trump in court, but his lawyer, Lanny Davis, said afterward that he was referring to the president.

“Today he (Cohen) stood up and testified under oath that Donald Trump directed him to commit a crime by making payments to two women for the principal purpose of influencing an election,” Davis said in a statement.

“If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen, then why wouldn’t they be a crime for Donald Trump?” Davis said.

The two payments were intended to silence two women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump and were made prior to the 2016 presidential election. One was for $130,000 given to adult-film star Stormy Daniels. The other for $150,000 related to former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

How about a social media platform that shadow bans or bans a Republican that is running for Congress?

I signed an NDA in return for a big payout from an ex-employer. I guess the HR people at that employer should be charged with a crime?

The FEC does not recognize this as an in kind contribution, therefore not a crime. Anyways the payment of any campaign fund’s needs to be properly disclosed with the FEC, which Clinton and the DNC failed to do in paying a foreign national for oppo research (hid the payments through a kaw firm).

What about the slush fund to silence the victims of sexual harrasment/assault by Congressional members and staffers?

My analysis as a former attorney: Cohen doesn’t want to get himself Arkancided.

Lanny Davis? How did surgeons remove his nose from Hillary’s derrière?

Bit of a stretch I think just to get this accusation in the news.

This whole thing was a plea deal. There was no ruling by a judge.
All fabricated and hear say by Cohen.

...”The hard core leftists will eat this crap up, but most other Americans have had enough of this.”...

You are exactly right. Most of us have accepted that our nation is divided between folks who live real lives and those on the left and far left who are of the elite classes, such as the Socialist Democrats in government, elites who live in the Hamptons and other such places whose income comes from their money, Hollywood celebrities, late night commedians, Rap music stars, Gay mafia organizations, Radical women organizations, academia, the abortion industry, hate groups who receive money from people like Soros, very rich social media tech owners and employees, never Trumpers, and, last, but not least, the propaganda left-wing media. No one could possibly figure out what the numbers are on each side because conservative people know that speaking up could mean physical danger, loss of jobs, and not being able to go out and eat in public among other things. Now, go back into that old history book and find out where this has happened before. It is not hard. We are now into the preliminaries of civil war if some things do not change in the political and judicial class. Sometimes the only solution is to let the consequences fall where they may.

I agree. Now if they are saying Cohen did something wrong that seems odd as he was compensated for paying the money for rights to their story. The compensation was not campain money. He was Trump’s lawyer. Seems like lawyers handle legal deals where money transfers all the time. Not sure I ever had a lawyer use his own money. That is the odd thing here. Why not just hand over checks from Trump?

You nailed it. Time for Trump to take off the gloves and go after some rats. They are not going to let up. So in Trumps own words... what does he have to lose ? Time to destroy some rat lives. Let the investigations begin!

Trump and Clinton - two presidents.

Stormy and multiple bimbos - two presidents’ “other women”.

Stormy, et al. - consensual; Broaddrick, Willey, Jones, et al, non-consensual and rape.

Trump’s attorney may have paid women to keep relationships secret.

Clintons established an entire department, headed by Betsy Wright and managed by Hillary Clinton, to deal with “bimbo eruptions” to keep victims silent. “Deal with” included intimidation by Clinton Mafia, possibly the murder of Willey’s husband (“suicide’), and other thuggish and illegal acts.

“Why did you tell your client that it was a crime and advise him to plead guilty?

^^THAT^^

Did the Feds charge him with said non crime? Sounds like collusion between Davis and the Feds. Something stinks.
