MTV doesn’t air videos these days and the awards are in totally different categories than they were in the 80s.
And their “rock” acts this year date back from 1994-2008. Wow. so non-cutting edge.
And yes, there are plenty of new music videos on youtube.
Remember when people retroactively slammed MTV for not airing enough black artist videos when they started (because apparently Eddy Grant, Musical Youth, and Prince weren’t black)? Prince’s 2 MTV videos were shot quickly and cheaply just to have some product to get to this network.
Why no calls for diversity today?
Herbie Hancock (Jazz) and Stevie Ray Vaughn (Blues) could even find space in the rotation back then.
Whatever Madonna is trying to be, its cultural appropriation.
Fake “music”. That isn’t music, that’s a bunch of morons breaking wind.
She looks like some kind of necklace kiosk at a low rent district mall.
