I believe that one reason for this is that the MSM knows that the hardship and suffering caused by this will be the source of many attention-getting stories for themselves.

There are of course other reasons, but this is one.

If your job depends on your coming up every day with story ideas that will draw eyeballs, the disasters caused by collectivized socialism — with its nationalizations and hunting down of anyone productive — provides lots of compelling imagery and narratives.

Possibly not.

Can’t Americans sympathize with genuine asylum seeking refugees instead of ones with pre-rehearsed phony phrases to pretend they are afraid to live in their Latin American or Muslim countries?
Rush said once (pre 2016) “I wonder sometimes if there are still enough of the good people left in America now.” True, the “we” Americans statements aren’t even uttered any longer.
