As usual the media has not got a clue. The reporting is terrible as all their reporting is.
However...I suspect the problem is with the two nose wheel landing gear ties. If so...the Captain will approach the outer marker of the runway to make maximum usage of the length of the runway. He will keep the nose of the aircraft up as long as he can and, will gently ease the four main landing gear tires onto the runway surface as his airspeed decreases
As that happens, the nose gear with the damaged tires, if they are still there, will touch down on the runway and drag until the aircraft comes to a stop...the good news is there is no fuel near the nose landing gear, so if the pilot handles it right...all should go well for everyone. fingers crossed and praying for a good safe landing.
If a member of Trump's cabinet was on the plane, maybe we'd have people at the airport providing a live feed by now.
How about a dirt runway, or would that be worse.
