In the last few years, the left has been systematically denigrating women. This has been going on since the 1990s, when the Vagina Monologs toured the country.
Now, "feminists" are no longer content with portraying themselves as being no more than female genitalia. They are working to completely marginalize women by saying that any man merely has to say he identifies as a woman and he can compete in sports and by judged by the same standards as women while driving us out of locker rooms and rest rooms. By taking away the words used to describe women, they are effectively trying to drive us out of existence.
