More than 140 theologians, educators and lay leaders have called for all U.S. bishops to submit their resignations to Pope Francis, much like Chile's 34 bishops did in May after revelations of sexual abuse and corruption, as a public act of penance and a "willing abdication of earthly status." "Today, we call on the Catholic Bishops of the United States to prayerfully and genuinely consider submitting to Pope Francis their collective resignation as a public act of repentance and lamentation before God and God's People," said a statement, posted in English and Spanish on the Daily Theology blog on Friday.
BTW, as i mentioned to another poster, do you allow your kids or grandkids to attend public schools? Because they are far more likely to be molested there than in a catholic church, in case you don’t know.
So, I assume if they are, that you’ll take your own advice and send them to private school or start home schooling them.
My argument is that the Church Jesus speaks of is NOT in fact Rome.
Why? Because Rome is teaching its people the exact opposite of what Jesus and the Apostles taught.
It’s bad enough that they’re forcing you to take Communion from the hand of a child molester if he’s the one assigned to you... in contradiction of St. Paul.
What happens when he and his ilk start forcing you to approve of the homosexual agenda on pain of excommunication if you refuse?
Quick correction. The Church Jesus speaks of certainly includes Roman Catholics.
But from the definitions of Roman Catholic I’ve seen, the body is the Vatican is certainly no church, especially if A: it continues to demand submission to the Pope, and B: allows obviously evil men as Pope.

I got the same treatment years ago.
I was actually posting something positive in support of a priest who had lost his job because he refused to compromise what he believed, but even that wasn't good enough.
They kicked me out because of who I was and said as much.

Matter of fact, since the Catholic church has allowed this kind of corruption and immorality to go unchecked for so long, I don't see that Christ will do anything but remove the church, just like He did in the book of Revelation.
Waiting for Jesus to fix this mess is just wishful thinking on your part.
The only thing the Roman Catholic church has coming and deserves for the mess that it has enabled for so many years, is God's judgment.
WHY would you all expect Christ to protect an organization that has hidden systematic abuse of children for decades, if not centuries?
This has been a problem in Catholicism for over 1,000 years.

THAT is true, but it may be by destroying the Catholic church since they refuse to purge the evil among them themselves.
Scripture tells us how to deal with immorality and sexual sin in the church.
It'd be nice if they followed the book they claim to have written.

Roman Catholicism is as far from that as you can get and has been for centuries.
The *church* has managed to stay around for as long as it has, not because Christ is protecting such a den of iniquity, but because Satan is.
Satan is getting too much mileage out of the Catholic church. Not only is he destroying lives on such a massive scale for centuries, he’s doing it in the name of Christ.
A greater abomination cannot exist that those who name the name of Christ and claim to be alter Christos should be such purveyors of abuse and immorality.
Christ said that by their fruits you would know them. The fruit of Catholicism tells you whose it is. And it isn’t Christ’s.
Most people misinterpret that verse.
Besides, gates are defensive and what Christ is saying is that when the church goes forward in power, then the defenses of the enemy cannot stand against it.
Instead, the Roman Catholic church has become the gates of hell.

No doubt there are some true believers in the Catholic organization. Some people who are the true church, just as there are some in every congregation.
But the organization as a whole? Forget it.
It is not any body of Christ. Unless they want to try to convince us that Christ would condone what has been going on for most of its history.
And that’s not happening.
They have forfeited the right to call themselves Christian.
I have to figure out what to call them as I find it hard to use the term *church* to describe the Roman Catholic organization.

Right, correct this is the hidden agenda. Let the American church leadership resign in disgrace and Francis will prayer fully and sadly dismiss them and replace them with social justice warriors. He will destroy the American church.
And here I thought that Mass was a requirement for salvation for Catholics.

Really?—I was called disgusting first, and an ostrich. And yes, Mass is required, but receiving the Body of Christ is not,(though of course it is an essential part of our Salvation) and we can choose which church to attend.
