That's not now it works. Facebook, Twitter etc. didn't start from big corporate sponsors. They got money from people looking for the next big thing.

In the summer of 2004, venture capitalist Peter Thiel made a $500,000 angel investment in the social network Facebook for 10.2% of the company and joined Facebook's board. This was the first outside investment in Facebook.

It so happens that Peter Thiel is a Trump supporter. There's plenty of money out there if someone knows what they're doing.
