In my early 30s, I worked for a defense contractor at a job that required a top secret clearance.

The FBI checked my public school records, military service records, police records, and conducted personal interviews with neighbors from when I was a kid.

I was granted the clearance and worked at that job for about 2 1/2 years, before taking a year of leave of absence to finish my college degree by attending full time rather than just part time.

As soon as I terminated my employment, my security clearance was gone and I had to sign a document swearing not to ever disclose what I had worked on there.

Why do these Gov’t. guys think they have a right to retain their clearances? It’s only a privilege, not a right! ...When someone leaves their job that required a security clearance, it should be immediately stripped away!

These elite swamp creatures don’t know when to keep their mouths shut. Anybody that has had a clearance knows how the system works. It is not some entitlement. They seem to be suggesting there are 2 sets of rules. One for the elites and another for the peons. What a bunch of jerks..
