Twelve former senior intelligence officials issued a statement late Thursday criticizing President Trumps ill-considered and unprecedented decision to strip former CIA Director John Brennans security clearance.

What is ill-considered and unprecedented is a pensioned official who, not content to follow the norm of most spooks - that is, relishing retirement, writing a book or two, giving the occasional interview from his garden, or West Point lecture, is more motivated to mount the public platform as a paid talking head. While waving his rather tarnished credentials card to demand access to ‘inside information’ he can further twist, as he did before Congress on more than one occasion, to cloak, excuse and obscure his own deceitful role in what has become a rather sordid affair.
What is ill-considered and unfortunate is that 12-ex intel officials can't spot the signs of subversive behavior over the last 4 years that jeopardized the entire electoral process of America. That they, too, are exes, is somehow reassuring to the American people.
Not all named in the Fox News article I posted. Sorry.
But The Hill is naming them as:
former CIA Directors David Petraeus, Leon Panetta, Michael Hayden, Porter Goss, George Tenet, Robert Gates and William Webster; former CIA Deputy Directors David Cohen, Avril Haines, Michael Morell, Stephen Kappes and John McLaughlin; and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
OMG, most of them are LOSERS.
Just a couple I can’t identify, but the only surprise is Porter Goss.
I remember he was made head of either FBI or CIA and the stupid wuss couldn’t handle it. Up until that, I thought he was pretty cool. I was wrong.
Each and every one of them should get a trap-door.
We’re gonna need more cherry trees...
We’re gonna need more cherry trees...
Upon taking office, Bill Clinton fired all US attorneys, who serve at the pleasure of the president, and replaced them with his people. Not a peep from the press, and rightly so, it was all constitutional.
GWB did not follow suit upon taking office in 2001. And, yes, that was very stupid! But he was, after all, of the stupid party.
In 2006, he did fire some, but only 7 of the 93. And it became a HUGE scandal drummed up by the press.
So double standards are nothing new.
What is new is that GWB had only the Democrat Party and MSM working against him.
President Trump has that *plus* most of the stupid party establishment (GOPe) actively undermining him.
And so far, he's doing pretty damned well!
What value does your statement have when you’re a member of the deep state?
While being blackmailed by other members of the deep state?
It just occurred to me that it wouldn’t surprise me that if these 12 morons have no idea what has happened regarding the whole Russia/collusion thing BECAUSE THE MEDIA DIDN’T COVER IT!!!!!!
These guys aren’t blackmailing each other to sign on to this ridiculous condemnation. They are all totally on board. Because they have all been making lots of money with the security clearances and the access it gives them.
President Trump is upsetting the apple cart, and the greedy bastards are freaking.
Twelve more security clearances that should be stripped....
That would constitute what normal folk would call a good start.
L
There’s waaaaay more than just twelve.
Sure, but you have to start somewhere. And twelve is a nice, even number.
Okay but with blackmailing as their wherewithal, their means, their bread and butter, their game, their art, their craft, their sustenance, their substance, their nine-to-five, their trade, their thing and their circumstances—it’s really hard knowing who is still blackmailing whom.
What is particularly satisfying is that you can tell they think they’re smart and superior because their fellow Deep State drones have always told them they are smart and superior.
They are having to face real life outside their beltway cocoon for the first time, and coming to the creeping realization they were actually stupid all the time.
Won’t work....
I hold a secret clearance. Government
contractors may work in private sector
jobs, then gain access to another
government position where a clearance
is required. Background checks can take
up to a year to complete. So, to reapply
would stop any sensitive “need to know”
work from being accomplished, while
waiting to be approved, again.
This is another indication of how deep the “Deep State” is. How far reaching is the corruption in Washington?
They’re not blackmailing anybody. They’re just shearing. Shearing us, the sheep.
And the new shepherd in town, PDJT, is saying, No, you’re not shearing the sheep any more.
And they’re spinning a yarn, saying that it’s all about freedom of speech, that they’re not fleecing anyone. But there’s not a strand of truth in any of it.
Sure, but each of them is motivated to stay exactly where they are and walk the line for both positive as well as negative consequences.
The negative consequences are death and blackmail.
