“Just walk into any STEM program at any college in America “

Since I am a professor, I guess I can say you’re full poop!

An easy 97% of the STEM programs I teach are populated by American students, mostly veterans! So kiss my ass, you liberal globalist.

I agree with you Code. We have a similar background. I taught Operating Systems at Auburn Univ for 20 years.

I am also a Microsoft Certified Trainer and MVP, and my partner in a new business venture is a Microsoft RD, and great, famous coder. I excel in Server systems and network management solutions, he excels in .NET, SQL Server, C# and C++ and we’re both heavily involved in teaching Azure and AWS business solutions.

It sickens me to see so many H-1B’s get in when we have so many eager Americans, highly trained and ready, to take a position. It’s worse for older tech workers. Many in their 40s and 50s come to us to upgrade to the most modern technologies, and then they have not only training, but a wealth of knowledge from the past and excellent work ethics.

Yet these guys (and a few gals) do not get hired. The firm will put in a bunch of Bull$hit qualifications that NOBODY would have in order to get an H-1B.

One reason is they can pay the H-1B much less. The other is that the older workers are feared by the HR people that think they’ll require a $hit-ton of benefits they’d not have to pay for an H-1B.

We do not need any more foreign workers in IT shops. High-end research MAYBE, but rank and file Americans are easily found but Congress gives business the H-1B in order to make it financially lucrative for those companies, at the expense of Americans.

How wrong that is!!!

Also a STEM professor and most students in my program are American, many who have been displaced by H1Bs and are upgrading their skills and degrees, both undergraduate and graduate. The majority of the Indian students I’ve dealt with are no more competent than domestic students and are mostly less competent overall. The statement is B.S.
