Humans are pushing the Earth closer to a climate cliff
The Guardian ^ | August 15, 2018 | by Jon Abraham

A new paper, just published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has received a lot of media attention. The attention is justified because the paper paints a very grim picture of the climate and what humans may be doing to it.

There are many really important insights from this paper. The authors wanted to know how feedbacks in the Earth’s climate will play a role in shaping the climate in the future. By feedbacks, we mean a change in one part of the climate that then causes another change, which in turn may cause another change, and so on, potentially setting up chain reactions.

Feedbacks are really important because they are changes that the natural system makes without being caused directly by humans.

A couple of things to note. First, we don’t actually know when these various feedbacks will be “tipped.” Scientists have educated guesses, but we really are not certain. Also, we don’t know how long they will take to tip. As an example, let’s say we pass the tipping point for a collapse of the Amazon Rainforest. That doesn’t mean it will die off immediately, but it means its death is likely or certain. But how long will it take? Years? Decades?

It just means humans should be more focused on taking action now to avoid triggering the tipping points. We don’t know where they are so let’s be safe and stay far away. The problem is, humans collectively are not doing enough. There still is time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. But, it is far too late to avoid all climate change – it is already here. What we are hoping for now is enough wisdom and will to at least stop short of going off these cliffs.

Well, the obvious solution is for the people who believe this to off themselves and ‘take one for the team.’

OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

There are plentiful volcanoes in the Indonesian Archipelago that are capable of an eruption somewhere between Krakatoa and Tambora in size. And there are volcanoes on Iceland capable of producing a huge amount of volcanic ash and sulfide gases too.

I mean, look at what happened after Mount Pinatubo erupted in 1991--California had several way above winters of normal rain.

Heck, I just can’t accept the climate change cabal can predict the weather 100 years from now when they still can’t predict tomorrow’s weather with anything more than 50% accuracy.

check out Bastardi’s winter forecast. 3-7 degrees below normal for the Southeast US Dec-Feb.

If everybody in the world moved to one side and pushed, we could move further away from the sun.

Ok. So Jon is a scientist. At least they didn't use the usual liberal arts music major for scientific reporting this time.

But in science, it's terms, quantifiable measurements, and descriptions, is "over a cliff?"

Really stupid alarmism article.

AFAIK, it only talked about *positive* feedback loops, which are necessarily rare and limited in the climate system.

It never mentioned the far more common negative feedback loops, which help keep the system within limits, and prevent fast radical change.

What idiocy, all based on hypotheticals that, conveiniently, will only be disproved, far into the future.

The whole article is “Give me money and control, or bad things will happen!”

Don’t underestimate God’s wicked sense of humor. After all, he invented kids!

Wine lovers should rejoice at the prospect of global warming. For example, both sides of the Mosel River could be used for grape production. Currently, only the side that receives the most sun is cultivated.

Wasn’t there an industrial revolution before the mini ice age? The city streets were full of cars spewing poisonous gasses into the atmosphere. Wait, I’m confused.

Scientists dancing around the MAY pole looking for more and more subsidies to keep up their war on humanity. A war founded on “FEAR” of the unknown in order to achieve absolute control pf humans. Just more Commie propaganda.

So of course all the white Christian males have to kill themselves immediately or report to camps for extermination so that the rest of the world can survive. Even though they don’t say that out right, that’s what they’re thinking.

These climate-warmist pinheads are such proto-fascist losers. Other than constantly extorting money from others , what are these eco-frauds good for? Nothing .
