With three West Virginia Supreme Court Justices headed to a Senate impeachment trial, 7News spoke to West Virginia Senate Majority Whip Ryan Weld about what's next.
Senator Weld (R-Brooke) said he, the Senate Judiciary Chairman, Senate President and staff attorneys from both sides have been spending time over the last few weeks putting together rules for the trial.

To convict will require a two-thirds vote of the WV Senate.
The people will not tolerate the Senate not convicting these thieves.
What are they accused of doing?
What are they accused of doing?
The West Virginia House Judiciary Committee has introduced 14 articles of impeachment against all four remaining Justices of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.
Most of the impeachment articles deal with the massive and unchecked spending of nearly $4,000,000 on building renovations and lavish office furnishings such as a $32,000 blue suede couch in the office of suspended Justice Allen Loughry.
Loughry faces six articles of impeachment and Chief Justice Margaret Workman is named in five. Justice Robin Davis is named in four articles and Justice Beth Walker is named in three.
The Judiciary Committee will vote on each article and send to the full House of Delegates.
If approved by the House, the State Senate will conduct an impeachment trial and consider removing Justices from office.
It boils down to stewardship of public tax dollars.
That story dated; Justice Robin Davis has since resigned. Her term goes up for election on the November ballot.
The other three justices face a trial in the WV Senate. Two-thirds vote needed to convict.
Even ABC news covered this story on Good Morning America. They mentioned the $32K couch, $8K desk chair, and various other extravagant office renovations. They compared this to the fact that WV is one of the poorest per capita states in the country.
I had no idea. Good for the people of WV.
Although Republicans have a majority of the WV Senate, they don't have a 2/3 majority.

True, but this is WV. They have Manchin type democrats.
If they want to keep the their small minority, they will vote to impeach.
If you are a government official, even a judge; just use what was there before you took your position. If the furniture needs replacing, submit a requisition to purchasing for good, but reasonably priced furniture.
You can buy a fantastic chair for under $1,000 and a very high quality desk for under $2,000.
Wow. The $32,000 couch is enough for me to say give ‘em the boot. Any more is just confirmation.
Thanks for the info.
