It is a freak show in every sense of the word. They don’t run everyday average Americans anymore for office. It’s either hardcore communists, gays, lesbians, trannys, Muslims, criminals. Why is this party a major party in the USA?
Back in the day, Democrats were people who were wrong on many issues but still represented the interests of normal Americans (whether you agreed with them or not) - union members, urban "ethnics", etc. At some point, perhaps when many of these people defected and voted for Reagan in the 80's, the Democrats decided to become the party of the political fringe: on the basis that racially radicalized "minorities" together with this fringe are enough to win national elections (which unfortunately they were, in 2008 and 2012). There's a light year of difference between Harry Truman (or even Tip O'Neill) vs. Maxine Waters or Ocasio-Cortez.
