Interior’s Zinke: ‘Environmental terrorist groups’ most responsible for out-of-control wildfires
The National Sentinel ^ | 8/14/18 | USA Features

Truth Bomb: Interior Secretary and former Montana congressman Ryan Zinke blasted “environmental terrorist groups” over their mindless lockstep opposition to proper forest management including logging as being a major contributing factor to several massive fires burning up the West.

In an op-ed for USA Today, Zinke wrote that there are about 100 wildfires currently burning, mostly across the western United States, and that most of them were largely preventable. He also wrote that he had just returned from the massive Ferguson Fire in California while praising POTUS Donald Trump for quickly declaring portions of the state disaster areas so they qualify for federal relief funds (despite the fact that Democrats in that state have done all they can to thwart the president’s agenda).

Zinke also called out “extreme environmentalists” in an interview with KCRA that aired Sunday. The day before that, Zinke lambasted “environmental terrorist groups that have not allowed public access, that refuse to allow harvest of timber” in an interview with Breitbart Radio,” The Daily Caller reported.

As for the lunatics who blame every wildfire on “global warming” and “climate change,” Zinke didn’t hold back.

Remember when Obama ignored the flooding in Nashville, likely because it is generally Republican/Conservative? Yeah, I suspect Democrats still don’t care about that.

I suspect there is collusion between the enviroweenie activists (who prevent forest maintenance) and Islamic saboteurs (who set fires). The mantra has been “old-growth forests should be inviolate”, with the resultant massive growth of combustible material. What better way to cause the US to spend mucho dinero that might be used, for instance, to combat Islamism.

He’s absolutely right.

California is a prime example.

They’d rather have wild fires than loggers.

Cut the dry underbrush? Good God Almighty! NEVER!

I live in north Idaho. We are living through our third summer in a row of unhealthy air due to wildfire smoke from California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. Those areas sure as hell are not run by conservatives!

Secretary Zinke is spot on in his statements. Trees are a crop and should be managed as such. Certain areas of ancient forest could be set aside for preservation for the environmentalist pearl clutchers. The rest should be harvested every 20-40 years depending on tree species. Selective harvesting keeps the trees healthy and more resistant to fires and produces better quality lumber for building.

We were a bit skeptical, but he’s been great for us out here in the West.

Your singing my tune.

They already have enough “old growth” set aside for their lala land. Matter of fact, most of these fine handed SOBs havent even seen an old growth forest since they inhabit the concrete jungles and never come out.

Not a bad idea at all, one would suppose, except for the matter of catching them in the act...

We were soon going to visit some friends in Idaho when they told us to hold off till the air clears. There are fires in Idaho also.

The fires in Idaho are pretty small in comparison to the ones in those other states. The prevailing winds across the northern US are west-to-east. The smoke we’re choking on isn’t from here. Long-range forecast shows essentially no change for at least 5 days, maybe more. Last rain here was June 2nd so its dusty too.

My wife has asthma and she is having some breathing problems. I don’t have asthma but if I exert myself outside in the smoke I wheeze a little. Its really bad. Visibility is only about 1/2 mile.

Yeah. Bad today up near Sandpoint. The wind is going to shift tonight but there really aren’t many points on the compass where there aren’t out of state fires at the moment. I think I could smoke salmon by leaving them out on the deck.

I live up high near Jewel Lake. On a clear day I can see all the way into Montana. Today I can hardly see the hills that lead to where I live. Last week when it was so hot the smoke was coming from N. Cali and Oregon and it wasn’t TOO bad. Now its awful.
