The two men who were killed early Sunday morning after a vehicle collision caused a fight on Interstate 5 in Natomas were identified Monday.
Their vehicles hit each other in the northbound lanes of I-5 around 3:44 a.m., prompting the men to drive farther up the freeway near Del Paso Road, get out of their cars and fight, California Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Zerfas said.
Jason Dykes of Sacramento was killed in the fight, the Sacramento County Coroners Office said. The Coroners Office identified the other man as Jose Rodriguez-Carrasco of Oroville. Witnesses said one man was chasing the other with a bat, according to police dispatch traffic archived on Broadcastify.com.
Dykes, 39, was killed in the fight after suffering what appeared to be blunt force trauma, Zerfas said.
Then, Rodriguez-Carrasco, walking north on the freeway, was hit and killed by passing driver, Zerfas said.

Ban baseball bats!
Jose Rodriguez-Carrasco of Oroville.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is he really “of” Oroville?
Especially the scary Assault ones!
Well we know that one was beaten with something because he died of blunt force trauma.
The vile creature who beat him to death got is justice immediately. Good!
“Is he really of Oroville?”
I get your point! Probably just where he currently (until today) took his daily dump.
Doubtful.
“The vile creature who beat him to death got is justice immediately. Good!”
Why can’t that happen to some of the cretins in the DOJ and FBI?
3:44 am. A couple of drunks.
The article says “fight”, but the quotes from witnesses only point to “attack”.
I’m just here to read the comments on this one.
Yes, that was no fight. Assault! Headlines are dangerous to truth these day.
Wha...???!!
The military have ‘em?
No way! They might hurt someone!
At least the Illegal paid the price...
It would never be PC to question someone’s aggressive intentions if he may possibly be an undocumented, uninvited guest.
If I get in an accident on the roadway, I typically pull over to exchange insurance information. Considering that other facebookers who had traveled the road during the incident reported a man running at cars with what was described as a crow bar (guess it was a bat) as well as the stalking people to their homes, I'm going to bet that he was responsible for the accident as well.
But that's not what the news site wrote, so I'm sure that there’ll be a difference of opinion. I'm thinking the first victim was murdered by a crazy guy.
You assault my car and it wont be a baseball bat.
You raise a good point! In the old Spanish “Californio” tradition it should be “Jose Rodriguez-Carrasco de Oroville”, like “San Juan de Capistrano”, “Rancho de los Palos Verdes”, “Bob de Bakersfield”, etc. etc.
