Was Sambo an African child? I thought he was an Indian (subcontinent) child.

He was, and it was a tiger. Not to many of those in Africa.

You are absolutely correct, it was South India. Blacks fought the dark skin of the child as being racist but I was wrong, it as India.

To be accurate, The picture of SAMBO at the SAMBO’s restaurants was not ‘black’.

The LITTLE BLACK SAMBO in the children’s tale was depicted as ‘black’ by the illustrators... back in 1899.
