n the small-town and rural Midwest, the Republican margin of victory over the Democratic presidential candidate increased to 28.8 percent in 2016 from 12.4 percent in 2012.
Hillary Clinton ruled the big Midwestern cities and suburbs in 2016, often surpassing Barack Obamas 2012 margins of victory in places like Hamilton County, Ohio (Cincinnati) and Hennepin County, Minnesota (Minneapolis.) But in every Midwestern state, the small towns and countryside gave Donald Trump much higher victory margins than they gave Mitt Romney in 2012.
The small-town and rural Midwest gave Hillary 20 percent fewer votes than Obama received in 2012, and gave Trump 13 percent more votes than they did Romney. The GOP smaller-town victory margin increased an astonishing 130 percent for the nine Midwestern states in aggregate. The SmallTown and Rural vote is defined as all voters not in major cities, suburbs, or established blue collar industrial counties, not places where media heavies or the donor class live.

If.
Psst... Here’s a tip, GOP - If you want Trump’s voters to show up this fall, you might want to campaign towards them. That would include not insulting the president and maybe even working with him.
A shocking idea, I know. Just a thought, otherwise, feel free to do, umm, whatever it is you do.
[ If Trumps Voters Turn Out This Fall, Theyll Give Republicans A Big Senate Majority ]
I think so, too.
In the Kansas primary, I did a rough estimate of the votes cast. Looked like twice as many, perhaps slightly more, vote for the Republican primary vs. the Democrat primary.
But that’s Kansas.
Trump understands people who do physical labor. He connects easily and strongly with them. There are probably a dozen factors that explain this, but the biggest is probably that he knows what they do every day.
Nothing like gaining an appreciating for hard-working folks than spending time with them. Finding out what they do every day. And watching them.
Construction experience will do that for you. Best thing that ever happened to me in my career.
This is the REAL reason the MSM-DNC went crazy after 2016.
The numbers pointed to a possible GOP 8 Senate seat pickup.
The GOP-e managed to kill that one off.
WHEN.
my post from the Florida thread:
I will just caution though, its still all about Dem fraud and our turnout to over come it, regardless of registration numbers.
All we heard leading up to the 2016 election was how Dems had a huge registration lead in FLA thanks to Hispanics and Hillary lost. Also weve seen deep red districts barely put the R ahead of the dem or even lose in PA during these special elections.
Its all about turnout.
I continue to believe that the Democrats will win only 16 total seats in the house and the GOP will gain three seats in the senate. This will result in the upcoming replacement of Ruth Badger Ginsburg will be even further tonthe right than Justice Kavanaugh.
OK, when? They didn't turn out last week in Ohio or a couple of months ago in Pennsylvania.

“If Trumps Voters Turn Out This Fall, Theyll Give Republicans A Big Senate Majority”
Cool. If conservatives turned out in local government schoolboard elections, we wouldn’t be reading stories about schools brainwashing students.
One thing we can count on with so-called conservatives is that they’re too busy working, remodeling kitchens and barbecuing ribs to get involved in local politics.
Let’s hope they get off their fat, useless, mammom-worshiping asses for the federal elections.
We will!
No, we don’t care what the GOP does, this is for Trump!
Its all about turnout.

You are correct.
No excuse for no turnout.
Hope so.
Yes, it is vitally necessary to vote in RNC Senators.
And yes, McConnell will use them to block Trump.
