I’ve got Netflix. Plan to keep the DVDs coming and cancel the streaming.

I just made a comment about a made for Netflix movie with a lot of F words, too many.

It's out of control. It assaults my eardrums. There are so many good shows I won't watch because of it.

The ironic thing is by over-using the F word they have robbed it of its impact. It has no power anymore.

I've thought of that; the selection is better.

I’m a cheapskate out of principle regarding streaming. The only reason we stream Amazon Prime is because it’s free for us. What I mean is, we had amazon prime for almost a year before we realized we could use their streaming video service. So we were/are paying for it whether we need it or not.

We’ve had streaming, but the selection is marginal and a huge percentage of stuff is riddled with liberal values. On DVD, we can get lots of old TV series, lots of movies. My current list includes Cheyenne (old western series), It Happened One Night, The Lion in Winter, The Ghost and Mrs Muir, Baa Baa Black Sheep (TV, a guilty pleasure)...none of which involves the Obamas, homosexuality or lots of cussing (did enough cussing on my own while in the military!).

I’d guess on average we have a different film every other night. Reading books can fill in the other nights (along with FreeRepublic).

Also check the programming your producing. Then there’s the lag time from the time a new movie hits DVD until it can be streamed. Why not take it right to streaming with a small monthly fee for this service. An then the quality of your “originals” is going down or their produced in some foreign language.

Jut a few pointers from a customer

I like DVD rental. I have Amazon Prime anyways, so may go streaming with them and DVDs with Netflix. I'd like to dump Netflix totally, but I don't know of a better DVD rental option.

Phil N Trophy huh? Don't they mean pumping 💸💸💸 into progressive causes? Where the hell is the conservative gazillionaire anyway?

Trying to get Amnesty and Open Borders, ala Koch Bros.

When we really have to have it on DVD we just do Redbox. We moved to KY seven years ago (from Seattle) and just stopped renting movies. We were just too busy, and trying to get 12 acres and our new home into shape. I just assumed they no longer shipped DVDs.

did enough cussing on my own while in the military!

I asked Mrs. Chandler when the entire world joined the Marines!

It Happened One Night

One of my favorites. And if you think about it, the same story was adapted years later in Roman Holiday and Romancing the Stone.

Netflix recently announced an exclusive multiyear deal with the Obamas’
new production company "Higher Ground Productions" for original programming.

TO COMMENT OR CANCEL---Netflix/Customer service----1 (866) 579-7172

====================================

REALITY CHECK A Netflix exec recently said their target is the release of 80 original films this year,
which range from “sub-indie” low-budget pictures to “$100 million blockbusters.”

Netflix's efforts to produce new content, secure the rights for additional content, and diversify through 190
countries has resulted in the company racking up billions in long-term debt
: $21.9 billion as of
September 2017, up from $16.8 billion from the same time the previous year.

Although only $6.5 billion of this is long-term debt; the remaining are long-term obligations.

I actually like the original programming on Netflix. I'm not stuck in 1957 and faint after the hearing of the "F-bomb". Modern curse words are construction of 19th century Victorian proper society anyways. It may not make sound the most intelligent but as some sort of moral failing or lack of character....Please.... As a Libertarian, my opinion is it's busybody religious people chastising people for coarse language. Just another form trying to control your fellow citizens.

My current list includes Cheyenne (old western series),

I f'ing hate Westerns, most of it is pure fantasy about a time that really never existed. That period in 19th century was mostly newly minted Central European immigrants hoping aboard horrendously boring wagon trains trundling across the endless prairie and high desert, that boredom was sprinkled with random violence, Indian genocide and religious bigotry. Mostly an invention of Barnum and Bill Cody to sell fair tickets back East.

It started out at $7.00 a month, and it seemed they had quite a bit of movies from the past, though not that many blockbuster kind of movies.

But they seem to have moved heavily into in-house movies and TV series, and raised their prices to $11.00 a month.

Selection is worse and the price is higher. But, it's so easy to keep, that even a couple of movies a month make it worthwhile. Lately, I've been re-watching the Breaking Bad series. Just amazed by how good that was, from the very beginning.

DVDs beat streaming.

You must get off the lazy chair to swap movies.

You must drive down to the used store and buy classic DVDs.

DVDs last forever, at least your remaining life.

No recurring costs.

Cursing is a neon sign of ignorance.

It is not religious. It is literate. The more literate you are, the less you curse because you can fill in conversation with content. Cursing movies lack content.

The only time a well literate person curses, is when he is hurt. Then it is a warning call.

A regular cursing person is broadcasting to the others, hey, look how stupid I am.
A verbose cursing person wears the I Am Stupid tee shirt, for all to see.

Netflix is a juggernaut . I bought it seven years ago, sold it for a small profit a few months later, and I’m still kicking myself on the hundreds of thousands of dollars I missed out on had I kept it. This guy is now wealthy, and cashing in on his good fortune

Oh that's just a tiny bit, most of all I think the public is tired of the stale content which will get even staler with them losing the content war to Disney and others.

Most of their "new" content is of their own production, and half of it is crap, And most of the rest is Bollywood, Paki, Japanese crapola!
