It looks like the Rule of 85 is still in effect, but the minimum retirement age is 55, and that is set to step up. Also, for Federal law enforcement (FBI) there is a mandatory retirement at 57. There is a provision for “separation for misconduct/cause.” From the research I’ve done, Federal pensions are forfeited under the “Hiss Act.” (Yeah, that guy). The disqualifying crimes are treason, espionage, plotting to overthrow the government. I don’t see where the list includes things like bribery or official misconduct, but they may have been added as amendments to the Hiss Act.
