**SNIP**
The vehicles stuck each other in the northbound lanes of I-5 in Sacramento, Calif., around 3:44 a.m., according to Mike Zerfas, California Highway Patrol public information officer.
The two drivers, both male, then drove farther north on the freeway, stopped near Del Paso Road, exited their vehicles and began to fight, Zerfas said. One of the drivers was killed in the fight after suffering what appears to be blunt force trauma. Then the second driver, walking north on the freeway, was struck and killed by a passing motorist.

Then the second driver, walking north on the freeway, was struck and killed by a passing motorist. Four in the morning is no time to be walking on the freeway. Too many drunks driving home.
Of course I imagine this passed away pugilist had a few in him.

A bit more to this story... Social media reports the day before identified a rust colored Ford truck with Oregon plates following women home. That truck was involved in the accident, and further reports said that there might be a body on the I-5 plus a man attacking passing cars with a metal crowbar.
A lot of women in my area are feeling far safer this morning knowing that a stalker is no longer around.

I’m feeling most sorry for the poor innocent schlub who probably got their car badly damaged when the killer stepped in front of his or her path.

At 3:44 AM, there should be very little traffic on the I-5. With clear driving for miles, these two somehow found each other. Amazing.

Hm?....The names of the two men were not given. Gee?? I wonder why? It couldn’t possibly be that they were illegal immigrants. Nope! Not that! /s

As I always tell my daughter, after 2:00 AM, every car on the road is being driven by somebody who is drunk, except yours. Leave extra room, and make no assumptions about anything.
Better yet, be home.

Certainly less traffic, but NOT a really light amount.
That highway is busy all hours.

I used to drive the I-5 from the 152 down to Los Angeles - in the wee, small hours of the morning it was deserted out there through most of central California. But I admit I don't know what it's like up around Sacramento.
