N.Y. targets NRA insurance liability program in backdoor gun-control scheme
And nothing will happen to him because ‘all animals are equal, just some animals are more equal than others.’

Ridiculous law unless you killed the eagle to get the feather.
Agreed. This is just stupid.
Lock him up
Raid his house.
These bald eagle laws are stupid. Bald eagles are over populated. If you live on a coast, even the coast of Lake Michigan there are bald eagles everywhere. They are not endangered. In fact they eat a lot and while they like salmon, they can eat lots of fish and other creatures that are endangered. And while I don’t like hunting season for bald eagles there is no reason to have these laws that put people away for years to protect something that does not need protecting.
Same as in most states you can’t harvest deer meat or antlers from a road kill.
So yet again, I’m smarter than the average liberal lawyer/Governor. My kids and I were kayaking and a Bald Eagle swooped past us and dropped a feather. I said “don’t even think about it.”
Whoops. That’s the Tribune. Got Times on my mind.
I'd say "more ethical" rather than "smarter".
Yep, I learned this from my grandfather when I was a kid.
Imagine picking one up then getting caught, sent to prison and raped.
Noting that I am not familiar with the referenced location, unless the feds own the property where the feather was taken from, it remains that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific power to make such a law.
The law is therefore unconstitutional if area privately, local or state government owned imo.
Corrections, insights welcome.
Support Free Republic, Folks!
It is funny how Democrats are never aware of Federal laws. From eagle feathers to unsecured servers, they are just dense when it comes to laws that would apply to them.
Keeping an eagle’s feather is the least of his criminal activity. He won’t ever be prosecuted for any of his lengthy crimes.
I agree, however, this is another - if you don’t like the law change it.
I don’t imagine many people have contacted elected officials about it and my guess is native American tribes would fight any changes.
I believe but would have to check that this law applies to all raptors, not just bald eagles.
Certainly more ethical, but I’m going to stick with smarter.
Of course, the average fire hydrant is smarter than the average liberal governor
