Just curious....are all living things potentially humans? Or is there a set number of human beings? Are creatures from other worlds going to be reincarnated?
People who do bad things go downward and may become troubled humans or animals or lower life forms.
For Hindus: Paramahansa Yogandanda said it is a rarity to become human as most life is in one cell form up through animals.
In Judaism: The Zohar states that in its system people work through their flaws and sins and move upward to a better level of human life here and longer length of time in the World To Come. A lot of sins may mean a happy, rich material life here but a brief moment in the World To Come. Many good people here face poverty or at least ordinary status and watch the bad guys flourish and live rich happy lives without any attempt to live by God’s Laws here (organized crime,sports stars,rock and film coke heads etc.) but the reward for the good people is in the next life.
