Basically anyone who has ever been to an airport knows that finding an open power outlet can be one of the most stress-inducing aspects of flying. So it should come as no surprise that people are freaking out over this power outlet sticker prank.
Thanks to one beleaguered travelers commitment to exposing this diabolical trick to the world, a photo of one of the fake sockets has gone viral.
Whoever put up this fake sticker of an open outlet at the airport, you are now my enemy for life, Twitter user Brandon Ewing captioned a photoset of himself discovering the ruse.
Of course, Ewing hasnt been the only one to fall for this prank. Several others have also recently shared their experience with fake airport outlets.

This is why I still bring paperback books to the airport.

I have a case of portable chargers with my company logo on them. 3 different outlets for iPhones, androids, etc. they take about an hour to charge fully then theyll fully recharge a single device 3 or 4 times.
Its the most popular piece of swag I hand out.
They retail, plain, for about 12 bucks I think.

My hubby told me when he was a grocery clerk, he would lick and stick an S& H Greenstamps big sticker (worth a whole book) on the floor by his register.
A local mall here has a “free”* phone charger kiosk. You select a code, open a compartment, insert your device (plugging it into the appropriate wire), and go shopping. Come back later, an outside indicator will show whether your device is finished charging. Enter your code, the compartment opens, and away you go!
*Of course it’s not “free”. TANSTAAFL. It’s paid for by the mall on the theory that users are spending money in the mall’s tenant stores. There is no demand or provision for payment at the kiosk.
The piper gets paid one way or the other...
