ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — The Latest on the bank fraud and tax evasion trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort (all times local): 10:50 a.m. The judge in Paul Manafort's trial has called a recess without explanation. U.S. District Judge T. S. Ellis lll huddled with attorneys from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office and Manafort's defense lawyers, as well as court security officers, for more than 20 minutes before calling the recess. The judge then exited the courtroom toward the jury room. The recess comes as prosecutors are preparing to finish their case Friday. Manafort faces charges of bank fraud and tax evasion.

He is going to dismiss the charges.
The salty tears of Mueller’s team caused a flood, water now being sent to CA to put out the fires.
Maybe they’ve worked out a plea?
He wants the Times thrown out of the courtroom?
Persecutors offering a deal and giving him the weekend to think about it? Is their case really going that well? I don’t think the Judge would buy into this tactic.
I do that.
Possible deal, possible mistrial, Friday afternoon and wanting to see if the jurors want to go home.
That won’t happen if it happens until ethe case rests by the pros.

You think that judge is not subject to coercion? Maybe even a weekend trip to a remote hunting lodge
That was my first thought.
The way he had been moving this thing along, it seemed like he wouldn't take any long breaks unless he had to. Based on what's happened in the last few days, I think Mueller is trying to get Ellis removed.
I don't know how easy that is during the middle of a trial, but Mueller will do anything if he think's he's losing.
These guys always like to have the deck stacked in their favor, and when a judge like Ellis comes along, I think they would do anything to get him removed.
I’m guessing a mistrial, maybe juror related? Should throw it out with prejudice.
This has been a strange trial. Usually white collar crime cases are very lengthy, with forensic analysts testifying on both sides and volumes of financial records introduced. So far it’s been mostly just testimony with little reference to smoking gun documents.
