The Pledge is an important element of Americas political culture. Patriotic traditions like the Pledge constitute the cultural exoskeleton which contains and forms the unique American culture for the Nation at large. To discard or disregard this essential element is an act of betrayal, and is evil. It should be treated as such.

"There are many emotions around this and we want everyone in our school family to start their day in a positive manner. How about doing so by showing some gratitude and reverence for being able to live in such a great country, as a united class and school? That's a pretty positive way to start one's day.
