true. But without a PhD and specialized cardiac surgery training received at the U of Minnesota, USA, that transplant might not have happened at all

True, but even though his family had lived in RSA far longer than most of the blacks there, back then, and far, far, FAR longer than even more of the blacks who live there today, Dr. Barnard was still from European stock and white! Ergo, in these RACIST times, his incredible addition to mankind ( yes, MANkind;I WILL never be PC! ), still goes onto the column of what WHITES have contributed/invented!
