It is somewhat reminiscent of 1929-to-1932. Crash occurs...banks were in the middle with nothing much to hand out...even if you had thousands there the month before.
What’s been underway for a couple of years, and rapidly speeded up for the past two...businessmen taking their profits/monthly income, and transferring it into dollars or Euro. They then moved it to Qatar or Dubai....finding something of value (condo, gold in storage, or just a deposit box) and stashed it there to wait for the ‘crash’. If you go out today...banks don’t have any more dollars or Euro to swap. Private exchange people will still do it but for a 20-percent difference.
So a young guy comes up and wants to do a house purchase, and there’s only one single bank in the country now that conducts these. Their gimmick? You need to take your life savings and deposit it for a year into the bank (giving money for their game) before they arrange the house purchase.
Down at the regular-guy level....nothing is really working. The Mullahs and Ayatollahs simply lack any banking expertise to grasp this. In their mind, you’d just go and print more money, then hand that out.
My prediction is that the Revolutionary Guards have this one last hope that the EU or Europe will react, and just hand them ‘cash’. The EU did vote to arrange a loan. The problem is that it’s mostly all digital. What Iran wants is absolute cash (last talk about six weeks ago was 300-million Euro and some German bank would arrange for the cash....then fly it into Tehran). Nothing much has been said since then.
My gut feeling is that the 300-million Euro will arrive....get dispersed out in 72 hours, with people sending it off to Qatar or Dubai, and the regular guy on the street sees nothing. Within 3 months after the money arrives....there’s no mention of it, but Tehran will say it’s in need of more cash (kinda like a heroin-addict).
The EU will say ‘no’ the second time around, and somewhere around March to August of 2019....I think the Revolutionary Guard will stage a coup (either all of them or three of the services). The Mullahs/Ayatollahs will be told to stand to the side and just handle religion from that point on....not state matters.
By the end of 2019, some election will occur and the head of the coup will take off the uniform and play out the same act as Egypt has done for fifty years. Trump will offer to meet the guy (probably in Dubai or Qatar), and as spring arrives in 2020...Iran has a different US relationship. Just my humble opinion.
