Maybe they should have granted Manafort immunity to testify against the real criminal, gates. gee, Mueller has this circus a*s backwards.
All empirical evidence in the real world points that way. In fairyland Sessions is a crackerjack AG.
“All empirical evidence in the real world points that way.”
In logical fallacy terms, that’s known as an “Appeal to Authority”.
You don’t offer any evidence, but yet you claim it is all in your favor.
The actual evidence, gathered from Trump’s decade’s long public record as a no-nonsense CEO, shows that he would never tolerate an under-performing department head for two weeks, let alone two years. Yet, he has done NOTHING to force Sessions’ hand or replace him as AG.
The only reasonable conclusion is that Trump does not share your opinion that Sessions is an under-performing department head.
So, who am I to believe? Who is in a better position to evaluate Jeff Sessions’ job performance; his boss, the President, or a handful of self appointed Sessions-bashers on FR?
Hmm...what a tough call.... /S
And don’t bother with the “Trump is afraid of RINO Senators” argument. That dog don’t hunt.
Lots of words that defy reality. But if you makes you feel better to believe that Trump and Sessions are playing good cop/bad cop you go right ahead.
Who said anything about playing good cop, bad cop?
It’s a simple concept: If Trump didn’t want Sessions there, he’d be long gone.
If that’s too confusing, I can’t help you.
Do you think he wants Muller there? Or Rosenstein? He can fire them as well.
I don’t think he really wants them there, but he doesn’t mind them being there - it’s been great for him politically to be seen as the innocent victim of a witch hunt.
Conversely, it would look bad politically if he were to act all Tricky Dick and start firing people to end the investigation. That’s why he hasn’t pressured Sessions to fire either of them.
Every once and a while he tweets a mild protest about the witch hunt but he sure isn’t lifting a finger to stop it, and it’s not stopping his agenda.
Look, if I really thought Mueller was a threat to his Presidency, or that he was going to lose the House and Senate in the midterms and risk get impeached, I’d be singing a different tune - I’d be wanting Trump to start kicking some ass.
But I’m not worried about Mueller or the midterms. I think the witch hunt is distracting the Democrats from battling Trump on the issues - he’s rolling over them and they don’t seem to realize they have put all their eggs in the one Russian basket.
My defense of Sessions isn’t based on thinking there’s some grand 4D chess strategy - it’s just that I am not measuring Trump’s success by whether he’s bringing corrupt Obama ex officials to justice.
Since I’m not measuring that way, I’m not disappointed in Sessions - I think Trump has him working on other things - Trump isn’t vindictive - he’s not out to put Democrats in jail - he’s political. He’s out to destroy the Democrats polically, and he’s doing it.
