#2. I would never even sign up for Twitter or Facebook, etc. I consider them to be “Shit Sites”, which, if you jumble the letters around, come out close to “Shiites” or “ISISShit”.
In fact, Facebook and Twitter act just like ISIS and the Taliban. If they don’t like you, they figuratively “cut off your head and voice”.
Gee, this is just like what the Castro brothers and Che did when they took over Cuba. The first thing they did was to seize the major radio station in Havana and turn it into a communist propaganda machine. All other voices were silenced, some by death.

Censorship is basically WRONG in a free society (with the “fire in the theater” exceptions). The Left started what the media called the “Free Speech Movement” at Berkeley in 1963, but if you looked at its leadership, under a looking glass, it was only a “RED FREE SPEECH MOVEMENT” and its legacy is still strong on the campuses of America’s education institutions today.

If they wish, Twitter can ban, or shadow ban, or full sun ban people who claim the earth is flat.
It is up to Twitter who posts and what they post and what content is prohibited.

Simply because a business has a government contract or does some kind of business with the government does not make that business a government entity.
Let the market decide if Twitter thrives or does not survive and we should all agree that the government should have no contracts with Facebook, Twitter or Google.

They backed off because she is well known. There are many many of us out there that *do* have at least a shadowban enforced on us. I found that even questioning this practice to Twitter deserved no valid answer from them...in fact, they do not even make it easy to ask the question of them.
The idea I got when I asked about my own QFD (”Quality Filter Discrimination”) ban was that I was being shrugged off. It wasn’t important to them.
Most of the ones you see with a red X in their name (put there by the user) have been used to indicate that this user knows they are QFD banned. That’s me in the link below:

A QFD ban is not actually a suspended account, but it does affect user’s searches...even with hashtags. It can be turned off but has to be reactivated with every new search. I tested this today and also found it to be true. Unless they follow me - they can’t see me even if I use hashtags in my tweets. I will usually follow whenever I see the red X (as long as I want to see what the person is tweeting).

I asked Twitter a similar question - “Let me (us) post what we want and let the reader decide if they want to block or mute me...they have that option...why are YOU doing it for them??”
This question fell on deaf ears.
I assure you - I have not posted anything profain or abusive, etc. The *only* thing I said to one guy (who didn’t like my pro-Trump stance, of course, and had been tweeting pretty nasty stuff, himself) was “block me, mf” and I did use the acronym.
It has been obvious, to me, that the ONLY IDs that I see banned are folks that post conservative ideas.
Twitter can control content on its platform as does ever other social media platform, website, newspaper, talk show and news network.

No idea, really. Just not a common name and I made a stab in the dark that there’s a relation.
I think I made the switch, but I’m not sure. I have a twitter account that I used for a while, but now ignore and forgot the password to, so now I have a gab account that I visited twice and then forgot the password to. My Facebook account might still exist, in which case I’ll ignore it longer.

[grin] I got on twitter years ago to spy on my kids. I didn’t start using it till the last month. The fact that I gained *so many* followers and followees who had some kind of QFD ban already probably gave it to me. What I have to do to have it removed per the algorithm (so says the shadowban site) is to gain more non-banned followers/followees.
I don’t know if I really want to put all that energy into it anymore, myself. Gab seems the logical solution.
