(CNN)Deadly fires have scorched swaths of the Northern Hemisphere this summer, from California to Arctic Sweden and down to Greece on the sunny Mediterranean. Drought in Europe has turned verdant land barren, while people in Japan and Korea are dying from record-breaking heat.

Climate change is here and is affecting the entire globe -- not just the polar bears or tiny islands vulnerable to rising sea levels -- scientists say. It is on the doorsteps of everyday Americans, Europeans and Asians, and the best evidence shows it will get much worse.

Back in the 90s I was obsessed with the weather and constantly remember dew points in the 70s and all the way up to 79. (I always thought a dew point of 80 was impossible because I never saw it). Today I rarely see dew points top the mid 60s. I always remember many hot and sticky nights with lows in the mid 70s. I never see this today. (In SE Wisconsin)

We need the ice caps to melt faster. The melted ice will fill the seas, the hot sun will evaporate the water, the evaporated water (gas) will rise and eventually drift over the continents, condense and come down again as rain, easing the drought and bringing water (and life) to the parched land. It’s a self-regulated system designed and created by the greatest engineer ever.
