The bigger picture is that there are many people who care deeply about their loved ones, probably more than anything else, and spoke to Trump passionately about that. Trump remmbered their wishes and did something about it. Perhaps he misremembered some details, but there's no way to know that, and it doesn't matter. The point is that he remembered, and he cared. Most politicians simply don't care.
