Most Americans know that we fought Germany in WWI. Few realize that the Russian Revolution folks and the Islamic Turkey were also fighting us. People hear the term Ottoman Empire, but fail to realize it was Islamic Turkey we were fighting.
Yeah. When they hear the word "Ottoman" they think it's just a cushy piece of furniture to rest their feet on.
