I can’t stand restaurants where you pay up front before getting your item and they have you slide your credit card through and give the tip up front.
Last time we did that and left a tip, we couldn’t find a clean table and ended up cleaning it ourselves. Also, the food took 20+ minutes to arrive and someone ordering a similar item minutes after us got her omelette first.
Not again with me.

The only place that I have seen that is in McDonald's and there's no tip there. Or a local pizza joint as an "eat in" and the tip is optional which I never leave because you bus the table(s) yourself.
I have never seen that anywhere else. Can you name names so that I know what to avoid?
