I carry my credit cards in an RF blocking case. I used an RF blocking money belt when I visited a country known for petty theft crimes.

New technology means you should use new means of protecting your property.

As I near retirement and am thinking about starting up a home crafting business, I am planning to include RF blocking fabrics into some of my crafts.

Awesome. I think you are on to something. Here’s something you might be interested in. One of my employers used RFID tags on our badges to track where we were and how many times we went to the bathroom. An employee kept his badge inside a magnetic blocking pouch. I don’t know if this could also block the signature of a gun, but it’s possible.

The chip cards are "dead" unless the reader applies power to the chip pins:

Without physical contact nothing can happen on the card.

I’ve been carrying an RFID wallet for a few years.
