Despite strong condemnations of the Trump administration for what he calls the growing wage inequality among Americans, AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka on Wednesday refused to rule out his union endorsing President Donald Trump for re-election in 2020.
Well, he will be looked at [for the labor endorsement], Trumka told Newsmax, Everyone [of the presidential candidates] will be looked at.
Pressed as to how serious he was about the AFL-CIO considering not endorsing the Democratic nominee for president for the first time since 1972, Trumka insisted we will consider every candidate whos running in 2020.
Recalling the last presidential race, the union chief pointed out that Trump got 3 percent more of our members than [Republican nominee Mitt] Romney did in 2012, but Hillary Clinton, unfortunately for her, got 10 percent less of our members than Obama did in 2012. And some didnt vote for President or some voted third party.
Trump gained among union members, Trumka felt, because people were mad. They were looking for someone who was going to change the economy. They felt there were assaults on their health care and assaults on their pensions. People were looking for someone who will shake up the status quo, because the economy wasnt working for them. Their wages were flattened and they found that candidate in Donald Trump.
Trump, Trumka said, promised to lift up workers and reign in Wall Street.
He did add, however, that Trump is going in the right direction on trade and [the AFL-CIO] totally supports a rewrite of NAFTA.

That is excellent news especially given it is from the State of Idiocracy.
This confirms what I suspected after feminism shattered the working class political order. President Trump has thrown gasoline on the fire.
We are watching the change of the political point-of-view on the part of hitherto unconcerned voters will . This will crush the Demons. These newly awaken voters have zero reason to vote Demon and many to support the President.
Trump is one of history’s greatest leaders. He is American down to his toes and the people love it. We love a fighter, like Superman for Truth, Justice and the American Way.
If he was eliminated, would anyone really care?
He damn well knows the workers are for Trump.
I get regular emails from my local AFL-CIO chapter raging against Trump and screaming about how he’s going to destroy immigrants, gays, and women. Not sure how much control the top has but it’d be funny if all of a sudden they had to walk all this back into an endorsement.
“Trumka is just jerking a few chains. He must have a list of legislation he wants from his hirelings if they seize control of Congress in November. “
I agree. This is a powerplay by Trumka within the Demonrat party against the coastal free trade gentry liberals.
However, outraged Trump hating liberals may go mental and start fighting with organized labour.

“AFL-CIO’s Trumka Won’t Rule Out Unions Endorsing Trump in 2020”
they might as well ... the bulk of the rank-and-file of private sector unions will be voting for Trump in 2020 anyway regardless of who the union “leaders” endorse ...
For an old veteran Marxist labor agitator like Trumka to even think of endorsing Trump you’d have to believe in unicorns and fairies.
He hired to veteran communists for key positions in the AFL-CIO, Karen Ackerman (Political Director) and Karen Nussbaum (of 9 to 5, etc). Both were amongst the first Marxists to go to Cuba on trips sponsored by the SDS/Cuban-created Venceremos Brigade (1969).
There was a major report published by (if I remember correctly), the House Internal Security Committee in 1972 or 72 about the VB which had the passenger manifest lists for the first 5 trips and Ackerman and Nussbaum, plus key leftist members of Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Vietnam (VVAW), were on them.
Trumka supported numerous Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party fronts and causes during the 80’s during his rise within the United Mineworkers Union. Was it just political expediency/opportunism, or more likely, an ideological affinity to their Marxism?
Skunks can change the color of their coats but they still stink the same.
Be afraid, Dems. Be really afraid.
Trumka’s concern is that so many union members like Trump that they may burst another, already leaky, exit seam if he tries to maintain the status quo.....
If he’s turning toward Trump he’s not safe...
All of us need to care about the victims of liberal hatred - from the guy who has a drink thrown in his face, to the man who’s car was rammed yesterday by a crazy women who saw his “Trump” bumper sticker, to the men who have been beaten up to the woman who was mobbed and pelted with eggs... to the people who have lost their jobs for the ‘crime’ of supporting Trump... and thousands of other victims in blue zones... We don’t want Trumka murdered by liberal thugs. It’s too high a price.
That would be outstanding....but we can be damn sure that AFSCME will be endorsing whatever Maoist that the Rats nominate.
Union bosses sold out their constituents long ago by supporting Democrat candidates with a platform of open borders and amnesty. Mass immigration - legal and illegal, undercuts the salaries of American workers. Unions used to recognize this and make opposition to illegal immigration part of their platform (even La Raza's hero Cesar Chavez supported deportation of illegal immigrants for this reason). Today, they just toe the liberal Democrat party line on all issues, whether it harms their own members or not.
That’s how I’m looking at this, too. It could be that some of the union bosses are liking that President Trump has actually delivered on this.
The dems will get their revenge on him for this.
Wall Street has a king? Who knew?
Now if they meant rein...
Or rain...
