“Why? It is not illegal to smoke, and therefor, in spite of the government supported nature of the housing, how can the government totally ban something that is not illegal.”

Can’t smoke in government building either. Public housing is considered government buildings. I wonder if this applies to Section 8 housing as well.

I also wonder when the foodstuffs allowable on EBT will be pared down to essential, healthy choices only.

There is a difference. I beleive the “government buildings” you are reffering to are government offices, essentially, and that is a different matter than someone’s residence, whether or not the landlord is the government.

The ban covers individual’s residences, not offices. THAT is, to me, inappropriate, and I think the courts should find it as an example of government overreach. The “common” and “public” areas of government housing, yes, but the inidividual residences, no.
