On this week’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) said the Department of Justice was stalling turning over documents to Congress with the hopes that the Democrats win the majority in the House of Representatives and shut down the investigations.
Nunes said, “I’ve seen this game played many times before. There is a stall game going on at DOJ and FBI. They are trying to stall as much as they can, hoping and betting that Republicans would lose the House in the fall. If that happens, it essentially shutdowns everything. Rod Rosenstein wouldn’t be held for contempt. FBI will not be held accountable. All of the investigations will be shut down, everything will be buried, and you will be left with media narratives saying ‘Oh, what the public can’t read, what’s blackout is what’s really bad stuff against Carter Page and the Republicans and the Trump campaign.’ That’s why the sooner the president declassifies, the better. The American people need to understand how important it will be to get out and vote in the election.”
On the efforts to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes said, “What I can tell you is there was a move late last week to begin impeachment. I think there are grounds for impeachment and we should hold them accountable. Congress has given them way too much power.”

Honestly, I would ignore congress too. At most for the last decade when anyone flips them the bird they get a whining letter.
Congress refuses to use it’s very powerful tools and has become a joke. Anyone ever get -even- slightly in trouble for Louis Lerner and IRS political targeting? Fast and Furious arming cartels? Dope banks? Support for Al Qeida in Syria and Libya? Benghazi? Support and arms for ISIS and Syrian jihadis? For the CIA and Brennan spying on the computers of the oversight committee?
The real question is why anyone who appears before congress does so at all.
Wasn’t that their plan in 2016? How’d that work out for them?
And Paul Ryan is working as hard as he can to make it happen. If the House goes over, none of this information will be released and the impeachment war will start. Trump needs to not only declassify everything, he needs to send in whatever forces are necessary to physically seize the documents and turn them over to Nunes.
Congress has the power of the purse. Every hour that there is a delay, defund the position of one FBI employee and one DOJ employee associated with the delay.
Nunes is during out to be just like Gowdy. All talk and no action.

The President needs to give them a direct order in writing to turn over the documents to Congress or to him to declassify. Failure to do so = removal for insubordination. Should have been done before, but DJT needs to become a little more heavy handed with the gig in the swamp.
Congress has only two powers: The budget, and impeachment. It won’t use either to rein in bureaucrats. That’s not really the fault of Nunes or Gowdy. It takes a majority in both Houses to use those powers.
And, the GOPe has played it right into their hands.
Now facing the summer recess, they won’t be back in session for over a month.
Calendar is full, according to Turtle, and they can only deal with budget and funding (without the Border Wall, BTW), so the hell with all these hearings.
What should they be doing? Remain in session. Give the DOJ and FBI a date certain by which they must have the requested documents in the hands of the committee. fight every challenge, and issue contempt citation like they are Pez candies.
Stop pussyfooting around with the left and the deep state. We elected you to do OUR business, not the left’s monkey business.
The Ruling Class is doing their best to cover their asses, especially Ryan and McConnell. Both of them have the Absolute Authority to Authorize and Sign an Arrest and Detainment order for Anyone but the President and Vice President for Contempt of Congress, Nunes and Grassley should be demanding those and LOCK THEM UP for not Talking or Turning over Documents. Why do you think Congress as their very own Jail??

This running out the clock strategy on massive governmental corruption is so obviously what’s going on that I simply can’t wrap my head around the idea that the American people are going to let them get away it this November. The idea that we’ve sunk that low as a constitutional republic is more than I’m willing to consider. Flabbergasting.
