sort of depends on how good you are. the world is different nowadays.
i know a millennial who worked as a freelance photographer for 2.5 years. worked her ass off, hustling business, getting amazing product out the door, everything. at the end of the 2.5 year period, she and her husband went to Europe for six months and lived very well. trip of a lifetime, she paid for it herself.
shocking, yes. but it is doable. but you gotta be good. sometimes being outside of a corporate structure unleashes that for some people.
I don’t know how much money this person made but that sounds like a bad investment.
I too traveled a lot in my twenties for work. I lived out of a suitcase for two years on per diem and essentially banked my salary. I took that money and bought an apartment building in Boston.
