Former prison inmate Alice Johnson said Wednesday she had a "feeling of betrayal" when former President Barack Obama left office with her still behind bars, urging other clemency aspirants to put aside their qualms and work with President Trump to win their release.

Johnson, who Trump freed last month from a drug-related life sentence, spoke at a gathering of clemency advocates at George Washington University, saying her case should give hope to others.

"From what everyone was saying, the Obama administration would be the one that would set you free, but I was still not set free. So to put your faith in a man was not a good thing to do," Johnson said.

Good post. This is a positive Trump story that needs the most coverage possible.

Marc Rich knew how to get a pardon from a Democrat president.

Pay to play works every time.

She should be in prison forever. She wasn’t some little old granny peddling a few dime bags. She dealt in tons of cocaine.

I think she served enough jail time, it wasn't like a Judge only gave her a 1 year sentence

She already served 20+ years!!!!

It makes me puke when I see stories about how she is some nice grandma who was wrongly sentenced.

If you read about what she actually did it makes it clear why I say she should never be released from prison.

I have only minor objections to Trump’s decision on this case. I would love to see President Trump pardon just about everyone convicted under BATFE entrapment schemes. If we can’t repeal those stupid laws yet, at least erase their negative effects. That would be a big win for real Americans.
