Burr is like Sessions. Neither has backbone and both are part of the good ole boy network of the Senate and part of the deep state. As others have said, Burr doesn’t run the committee, Warner does. Burr just wants to get along so he follows Warner. So many Republican senators are part of the deep state and don’t want to rock the boat. Mr. Burr: Name that great justification. What is the probable cause? Who are the reliable witnesses? Who all did the FBI surveille based on the Carter Page warrant? Want did they find?
Burr is dodging the question, which is whether the material in the FISA appl was put together mendaciously to create the appearance of “justification” via circular corroboration. So it was bureaucratically sufficient to get a lazy judge’s rubber stamp. The document does not establish verifiable probable cause or include anything from a reliable witness. It’s the FISA version of fake news.
