NBC Reporter: Trump Will Cause ‘Financial’ Harm to Clapper, Brennan by Revoking Security Clearances
Brietbart ^ | 24 July 2018 | Robert Kraychik

NBC News reporter Ken Dilanian suggested Monday that President Donald Trump would hurt the livelihoods of Obama administration alumni by taking away the “valuable commodity” of their security clearances. Dilanian (pictured, bottom center), who covers the intelligence community and national security issues, accused Trump of “seeking to levy a financial penalty” on former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper — both of whom are paid contributors at cable news networks.

Brennan now works for Dilanian’s employer NBC News as an MSNBC analyst. Clapper has since joined CNN in a similar capacity.

He further insinuated that federal employees should consider resisting the order if the president gives it, lambasting Trump for what he called an “extraordinary threat of political retribution.”

Private citizens have security clearances so don’t be ridiculous. But there has to be a “need to know” before you gain access to classified materiel regardless of your clearance. I can see no reason why these conspirators need to know anything at this point.

They no longer need a security
clearance if their present
employer doesn’t require one.
What classified information
would a news outlet possess
on a “need to know” basis?
The government was their “sponsor”
at the time their clearances were
issued (after a lengthy FBI background
check). The news outlets themselves
have to be “cleared”. If the people
they work for, are not cleared, then
the clearance is suspended.
There a 13 guidelines the government
reviews to see if revocation is necessary
in the interest of national security.
If a clearance holder has a suspended
clearance, he can request a continuance
if his new employer requires their
employees be cleared. I held a secret
clearance for 20 years working as a
DOD contractor, for different
manufacturing facilities. My clearance
was suspended once, though never
revoked. These guys legally should
not have active clearances.

Gee, and all this time, I thought the US government granted security clearances for the benefit of the United States and its citizens.

The President is correct in that they are monetizing their security clearance, i.e. selling classified information. During my entire military career I held a T.S. clearance with access to SCI material related to several very sensitive Black programs and if I went on a program like say “Ancient Aliens” or chose to write a book I could gain a lot of fame and fortune but those Secrecy Agreements I signed would wind up putting me in jail, or worse. So why then should these Bozos be able to get away with it?

Doesn’t this mean that they’re being paid for their access to secret information? Isn’t this admitting that they’re leaking information to the press? If they’re not then how “valuable” can their access be?

Why - and how - should they be able to make money off of a security clearance?

They can still continue to make money bashing Trump with mindless gibberish on CNN and MSNBC that appeal to whatever audience those two networks have left.

So the NBC nitwit thinks a top security clearance is for making money. They are trading on something that does not belong to them to make money. It is to help the govt which clearly they have no intention of doing.

Security clearances are for people you trust.

Translation: NBC and CNN are paying these guys because they tell us secrets we shouldn’t be privy to...we have no use for these idiots if that dries up.....
