Peak power supply includes natural gas peaking plants. There is not enough pipeline capacity to supply these plants. On peak days, like recently happened there will be rolling blackouts.

Here is an article from the Institute for Energy Research from 2016 predicting the exact same thing.

well IF the demand gets near 50k megs, we’ll know. Like I said, it rarely gets above 40K and if you look at the Available MW, its over 50k +.
