Californias grid operator is asking customers to limit electricity use during peak hours to help keep power flowing as a heat dome settles over the southwestern U.S.
But they were warned of this months ago. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) warned in May that California faced significant risk of encountering operating conditions that could result in operating reserve shortfalls.
Expected power demand is expected to outstrip Californias available generating capacity by about 5,000 megawatts on Tuesday, according to the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).

In this emergency please divert all remaining energy to the Free Republic website headquarters.
I was serious in a way. That’s why I used the payday loan analogy. If you are broke and simply HAVE TO get your husband out of jail, you do what you gotta do and worry about the future later. I think that is what California is doing with that ridiculous solar panel law.
Hows that Solar and Wind power doing out there in California?
but all the Breeze Turbines and Solar Panels
Or 5 Nuke plants...
Sadly, they are tactical thinkers.
Trump should offer some trainloads full of good clean coal to burn for power.
I drove down to LA from Reno the other day, and as I was crossing the entire LA basin on 8 lane freeways over a 2 hour period I couldnt help but think how much awesomer LA could be if they werent suffering from such a horrific lack of population. They barely use any global warming producing resources at all
Sadly they stopped the construction on 4 of the 5 in Washington State. But that’s what you get when your mismanage $20+Billion in public funds... Thanks WPPSS (Whoops)
Two new dams coming to CA. Finally!
I am expecting a Southern California blackout, sometime this summer.
They hopefully remember obambi pretty well forcing closed 75% of the 2 coal fired powerplants in the 4 corners. That dropped a lot of air conditioning off the market in So. Cal which was one of their big customers.
They had power problems 20 years ago.
Silicon Valley knows well the “Rolling Blackouts”

People should take a close look at home before they jump on the California bitch train.

Dam Jerry Brown, Twice!
California imports electricity from Arizona. Except for mild spring days, when California’s solar energy plants produce excess electricity. Then California pays Arizona to use the excess, LOL!
Californias leadership might as well be living in the 1800s as behind the times and misguided as they are.
You malign the leadership in the late 1800’s. They were very forward-thinking compared to the California leadership of today!

Democrat Governor Gray Davis and PUC President and Clinton operative Lorretta Lynch literally screwed up everything.
