Senator Rand Paul will be meeting with President Donald Trump on Monday afternoon to request that disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan have his security clearance revoked.

Brennan has been working in the media and bashing Trump for airtime, even accusing the president of treason following the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a series of unhinged tweets.

Security clearances, once granted,
can be revoked only under 13
different guidelines that all
agencies use. Rand Paul is (my best
guess) meeting with Trump to see what,
if any of the 13 guidelines apply
to the revocation of Brennan’s
clearance.
Security clearances expire after 10
years for secret and top secret levels,
and RE-application is required.
If Brennan is no longer a government
employee, he can’t use his clearance
for any government business, as the
government was his ‘sponsor’. He can
still use it in the private sector
if his job requires one, but the
information he’s privy to, will
pertain only to his current job.

There are plenty of companies that have government contracts that require clearances. I had one for a job.

When that happens, the company has to “hold” your clearance. They sponsor you to have one, due to the fact that they have a government contract. These can from a Moderate Risk-Public Trust(lowest) up to TSSCI. And if you’re really that high speed, you can be ‘read in’ on Special Access stuff.

I’d be willing to bet that he and others, like Rice, have positions at DC based companies that “require” him having a clearance. Probably a “no show job” like the mafia guys used to get, working on construction crews.

I’d love to have the President send some investigators to find out about how much that is abused. If I remember correctly, Rice is worth 50 million. She is dumber than a box of rocks. If true, wonder how much of that money was made “monetizing” her access, as Sen Paul is suggesting. Just another example of money buying access to sh*t they not supposed to have access to.

On a side note, Sen Paul ain’t no dummy. If he’s saying this then there’s probably a lot of truth to it.

Just to clarify, I think...

Clearances are good for 10 years. What happens is when you leave a job with a clearance requirement your access is lowered as you no longer need access to material that is classified. Your clearance remains until the End date.

Revoking a clearance means that access is not possible at any point because the clearance has been revoked and is thereby expired. Revoking a clearance for cause guarantees that reapplication would probably be a waste of time.

I hope that explains the fogginess of the clearance issue.

For example: Say a military person retires with the clearance but no longer requires access since he’s retired, that military person can go out job hunting and find a job that requires a clearance and since his clearance is still within the time parameters allowed a company will hire them and then they will petition to have access restored to the level of the clearance that is still in place.

I question some of the actions of someone who may run for president in 2020.

In all honesty, I don’t think we have much to be concerned about. Senator Paul is doing a fine job for Kentucky right where he is.
