So what else is new? Not only do younger people not vote often (and I confess I didn’t either at that age), they especially don’t vote in Congressional elections.

Republicans won big during midterm elections back in 2010 and 2014. No reason why they can’t at least defend their majorities in the House and the Senate. 2006 was an anomaly due to increasing Iraq War casualties.

[ Only 28 percent of young adults ages 18-29 say they are absolutely certain of voting in the 2018 midterm elections, according to a new survey. ]
Which means 10%-14% actually will. If I had to guess.
At the most.

I increasingly believe that the Richard heinlein approach is correct
Voting rights should be given only at the age of 25 after you have done at least 6 months of some kind of "national service" - it can be military, it can be going into the poorer areas and helping, it can be labor, whatever
Voting should not be a "right" tossed out to every one -- you should EARN it.
If a person doesn't understand how the country really is, if they don't work hard to get the ability to vote, they don't treasure it.

We need to set up alternative attractions. Rock concerts, festivals, bikini beauty contests, personal appearances by celebrities and so on.
A rolling out of a new phone.
Cash giveaways.
Distract the little twerps and stop them from ruining our country.
Just say no to voting.
