A colleague of mine when we were at Arizona went on to work at NIs of H. He was involved in a government study of environmental stressors among Mexican Americans along the border. They were having some trouble adapting, apparently. It was found that the MexicanAmerican community was used to having exceptionally loud volume of music from recordings and radio stations, played often time in open windows where it would be heard by the public.
This study was done in the seventies, over 40 years ago.

Once Trump takes office, all this Deep State spending nonsense will stop. Oh, wait...

That and along with the Legal Services corporation, Public broadcasting, National endowment for the arts, Midnight basketball....and on and on. The problem is the establishment Republicans. They complain about needless superfluous spending when not in power, and when they are in power with authority to end it, REFUSE TO END IT. Rush covered this a few days ago saying the same thing. We are in a bus headed to the cliff with no driver and no brakes. Gutless bastard politicians who care nothing more than to grease their pockets and maintain the status quo. To hell with them.

And we wonder why we’re broke? Our government needs to get over the idea that it’s “other people’s money,” and do it fast!

Bingo. Trump is delaying it, but I’m guessing that - eventually - we’ll be a one-party welfare state. And that one party will be the Democrats. The Republicans might elect a few officials here and there. But demographics - and wild promises - will give the liberals permanent national power.
I hope I’m wrong. But if it does happen, the establishment Republicans will be to blame. They did nothing when they could have changed this whole country around.

Unfortunately this government is like a sinking boat that’s been machine gunned full of holes, so there’s just no way Trump can be expected to plug them all overnight. Especially when you have a Senate that operates on “manana time” when it comes to approving new people for appointive office. Then when they arrive at their new posts, they find out that the entire workforce is not going to to anything to help make any changes at all!
