President Donald Trumps approval rating edged higher during a week in which he faced withering criticism following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that he is positioned to weather the latest controversy sparked by his unusual brand of politics.
Mr. Trumps job approval rating rose to 45% in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, the highest mark of his presidency and up 1 percentage point from June. The survey was taken over a four-day period that started July 15, a day before Mr. Trumps news conference with Mr. Putin in which he questioned the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 election.
Because the survey started a day before Mr. Trumps news conference in Helsinki, pollsters said the results may not capture the full reaction to events that unfolded throughout the week. Still, pollsters said results in the two days following Mr. Trumps remarksdeemed by Newt Gingrich, a Trump adviser and former U.S. House speaker, to be the most serious mistake of his presidencydiffered little from the preceding two days.
During what is a terrible week in terms of media coverage and focus on the president, these numbers dont budge, Mr. McInturff said, describing the presidents approval ratings as stable.

Winning DEPLORABLY....Yes...Dems, we aren’t falling for your Bull**it anymore, and media, the same goes for you...
Bow to your neighbor. Bow to your partner and lets dance. MAGA/KAG. Winning could be habit forming.
Fewer and fewer people are now taking “the boy who cried wolf” MSM at face value.
Polling data is always considered to have a 3 to 4% error possibility.
Thanks for pointing out all the fake news techniques.
The basis for their tantrum du jour is as baseless as all the previous tantrums du jour. There’s no there there, not even the mirage of a there there, except in the minds of the psychotic MSM, who can’t understand why the flyover deplorables don’t respond to Russo-phobia, which worked so well during the 1950s.
To me he was the Obiwan, our only hope against the evil empire. But as he clinched the nomination and I saw him in action at his rallies and during the debates, I started to love the man. He was the best Obiwan ever. As the death star exploded because he was at the helm instead of that little pisher Luke, I celebrated. Darth Vader was having a meltdown, and the empire couldn’t figure out how to strike back. Deplorable ewoks kept tripping them up.
Larry Sabato: You have to add 10 points to every Trump poll.

I don’t know about ten points but definitely a good 5-7 points.
The “blue wave” is way overrated. Even Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of all people is working to turn a Kansas City House seat red:
These "Republican Statesmen" like Gingrich good to wait a little bit before they get the vapors and freak out.
Trump voters were not expecting their guy to go to Helsinki and rake Putin over the coals for denying Hillary Clinton the presidency. I don't know why the GOP swamp-dwellers were thinking otherwise?
Very disappointed in Gingrich.
Looks like Americans are NOT falling for the ‘more money than brains’ liberal elite’s non-stop hate campaign.... May the MSNBC bimbos need to add more hate...Yeah, that’ll work.
