Second, by 2018 (into the 21st century) a burgeoning urban heat island (one that now encompasses Los Angeles City proper, Los Angeles County, and the surrounding suburbs) has grown enough to produce excessively high temperatures to a much greater extent today than in past decades, when the population of California was much smaller...excellent point - true all over this country and the rest of the world - large urban and developed areas serve as giant heat reservoirs which regularly store and then release excessive heat adding to the overall global averages - Philly weather forecasters regularly predict higher daily averages for the city and immediate surroundings than for regions ten or twenty miles out by about three to five degrees, for example - of course, this is also "manmade global warming" , but since it's a product of "Smart Growth" and other policies the intelligentsia favor, it doesn' count.....

The problem also has been shown repeatedly to be the result of poorly sited weather recording stations. There are thermometers placed inches from hvac condensers, thermometers in the path of jet wash, thermometers in the middle of acres of blacktop.

Of course the biggest problem is that all of this nonsense is by design. We have activists in charge of the recording activity who devise ways to manipulate not just the data, but the data collection systems. It is almost unbelievable.
